Volunteer

If you enjoy driving and have some spare time, you may be just the person we are looking for to support Connecting Communities.

Suffolk Community Transport services covered 139,143 passenger journeys during 2019-2020. Thousands of these journeys were made possible through the support of volunteer drivers.

Volunteer car & minibus drivers support all sorts of journeys, including doctor, dentist & hospital appointments, shopping, meeting up with friends or connecting with bus and rail services.

If you don't fancy driving, Connecting Communities operators also need enthusiastic committee members, general office admin support and passenger assistants.

What's in it for me?

Volunteering is a two way street. In return for your time and effort you'll get some fantastic things back, including:

  • opportunities to meet new people and make friends
  • new skills - accredited Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme (MiDAS) training
  • lots of useful things to put in your CV
  • out of pocket expenses
  • knowing you're making a positive difference to your Community

How do I sign up?

Complete your contact details and a local Connecting Communities operator will be in touch to arrange a meeting with you.
